About this location
Our West Fargo branch on Sheyenne Street has been a downtown fixture for decades. What you might not realize is that it’s built on a hill because it was constructed before the diversion was built in the 1980s, and West Fargo used to have chronic flooding issues from the Sheyenne River.
Our loyal retail and business customers appreciate the convenient access and ample parking you will find at our large branch location. You’ll also meet many longtime employees who grew up and live in town.
“We’ve been a leader in the revitalization of our downtown area, and some exciting developments are on the way that will make our downtown even more vibrant,” said Todd Zabel, president of the West Fargo branch.
The branch was originally First State Bank of West Fargo. Bell, which was then State Bank of Fargo, purchased it in 1989 and renamed it State Bank of West Fargo. In 2003 it merged with State Bank of Fargo and State Bank of Moorhead into one corporation called State Bank & Trust. It became Bell State Bank & Trust in 2012, after Minneapolis-based Bell Mortgage became a division of the bank in 2011. In 2016, Bell State Bank & Trust simplified its brand to Bell Bank.
